I'M so horrified I had to write to you regarding the extremely tame, resident swans being attacked in Gheluvelt Park, once again.
The female had been sitting on six eggs for more than four weeks and they were hatching when these mindless thugs exterminated them.
Couldn't the Swan Rescue Team transport the swans to a sanctuary?
I appreciate that they would probably try to return to their original breeding place.
But, if their wings were clipped for the first year to prevent this, it would be preferable to this terribly sad conclusion year after year.
In an ideal world, it should be the perpetrators of this crime that should be removed. But, as we sadly know, it's not.
