WORCESTER City banged out a six-goal reminder that their season is far from over.
John Barton's side romped to a 6-0 win at St George's Lane which plunged Folkestone to the bottom of the Dr Martens Premier Division.
Striker Adam Webster stole the glory with a hat-trick, his first for the club, and the win moved City up to third place, just a point behind second-placed Stafford Rangers.
It was Worcester's first league win since the 2-1 defeat of Tamworth in January and City manager Barton insists his team would have beaten most teams with Saturday's performance despite the absence of eight first team players through injury and suspension.
"I think we would have beaten a good many sides today, maybe not by as many goals, but the performance was strong enough despite the shuffling of the pack and the system," he said.
"Adam Webster's performance was very strong and with all due respect to others you can see the difference that Stewart Hadley makes when he plays.
"Irrespective of the other results you have to win your own matches and we've done that.
"We couldn't underestimate Folkestone - just ask Chelmsford who they beat last week - and we've drawn with a bottom club before in Ilkeston so it needed some good performances and we got them.
"There were a few of the players that didn't have a lot in the tank and if we'd had a replacements available Allan Davies and Stewart wouldn't have started because of groin strains."
Leaders Tamworth edged a 1-0 victory at Newport to keep them eight points ahead of City with a game in hand but Barton has not totally written off their title chances.
"There's nothing we can do about Tamworth but we just have to keep plugging away and if we take care of business at our end who knows what could happen," he added.
Webster was delighted with his first hat-trick for City even though his second goal was deflected.
"The players have given me a lot of stick about it and said the shot was hitting the corner flag but it was going in," he said.
"The atmosphere in the changing room felt the same as at the start of the season and after some bad results recently this is just what we needed."
