A SENSATIONAL Spa singer/songwriter could be sharing the stage with pop's hottest property including Atomic Kitten, Mis-teeq and David Sneddon this weekend.
Multi-talented Tim Jones will find out today (Wednesday) whether he has won the chance to star alongside the celebrity set at the XS 2003 concert at Worcestershire County Cricket Ground.
The Lahn Drive resident took part in a competition to find the county's future pop stars and is now down to the final five.
Vote for the best
Local radio station Wyvern FM have been playing the tracks by the final few through last week, inviting listeners to voice their views and vote for the best. Tim entered a self-penned pop track aptly titled 'Chance in a Lifetime'.
"It is very strange hearing your own song being played on the radio, but exciting too," commented Tim.
The 22-year-old has recently moved back to the Spa after completing a music degree. He also worked briefly as a retail manager but has now decided to concentrate on his career in music.
Launch
"I really hope to forge a career in music and this could be the ideal opportunity to launch myself," he added.
A former pupil at the Spa's high school in Briar Mill, Tim plays many instruments as well as singing and writing music.
And although 'Chance of a Lifetime' is a pop song, he has also dabbled in a variety of other styles.
The XS 2003 concert will take place at the county cricket ground, in New Road, this Sunday, starting at 4pm.
It will also star Fame Academy star Sinead Quinn.
Tickets are available from the cricket ground or by calling 0871 22 00 260.
