NEIL Samuel's of Worcester is in the final stages of preparing to represent Great Britain at the 11th Special Olympics World Summer Games in Dublin between June 20 and 29.
Neil, a 27-year-old with Down's Syndrome, attended the final get together with his 200 team-mates from all over the country at Wolver-hampton.
Neil, already the National singles champion from 2001 in Cardiff, is part of a six-strong lawn tennis team competing for the first time at a World games.
They are a happy team, hoping for success and sure to enjoy themselves.
The Worcester club has four representatives in the overall team.
Working towards the World Games is inspiring for the other 70 athletes in Special Olympics Worcestershire.
This reflects the dedication of athletes, coaches, volunteers and parents/carers.
Hel is always welcome in whatever form. If someone can offer their coaching skills or the use of sports facilities/equipment, then it will be a step further to preparing more athletes for the future.
Inkberrow Lawn Tennis Club has offered membership and coaching for Neil and a playing partner.
It has made all the difference in the world to his development and commitment.
He loves tennis and winning medals and it is hoped Dublin inspires him.
