REDDITCH residents with gorgeous gardens and lovely lawns can enter a special competition.
Organised by Redditch Council, the Best Garden Competition is an annual event which gives people the chance to show off their green-fingered skills.
After many years of working with the garden committee, Where Next Nurseries is unable to sponsor the event this year due to a lack of resources but organisers have now found a willing replacement.
Badger Nurseries, in Mappleborough Green, has agreed to sponsor the event and have included some additional incentives to make it even more rewarding for participants.
This year, the nursery plans to include its own award for the best cottage garden. The winner will receive a £50 garden voucher.
Everyone who enters will also receive a 10 per cent discount voucher for anything they buy at Badger Nurseries, valid until the start of judging, which will take place in mid-July.
As well as vouchers and trophies up for grabs, all entrants will receive a beautiful photograph of their gardens, which will be presented to them by the Mayor of Redditch at an awards ceremony.
The other categories which can be entered are general garden, water garden, containers and hanging baskets, against the odds, recent makeover (in the last two years), sheltered/warden controlled/residential homes and allotment site (the entire site, not individual plots).
Closing date for entries is Friday, June 27.
You can either fill in the form below or pick one up from garden centres and the town hall information office.
