FRANCIS Knight of Stoke Prior was charged a £2 fine for not keeping his two dangerous dogs under control after one of his dogs bit a nine-year-old boy.
GEORGE Harris of the Ewe and Lamb Inn, Stoke Heath, was granted a license to sell refreshments in a shed on the occasion of an athletics gathering.
THE Bailiff's dinner was held at the Golden Cross Hotel. Albert Roper, the Bailiff, presided over dinner where an excellent menu was served. They ate capers and olives on toast, clear turtle soup, salmon, mayonnaise and cucumber, forequarter of lamb with mint sauce, ducklings with green peas, plum pudding, cheese ramekins and ice pudding. Eugene Humphreys observed they should thank the Lord of the Manor because if there were no Lord of the Manor there would be no Court Leet. And if there were no Court Leet, there would be no Bailiff and if there were no Bailiff they would have no dinner!
