Our president Mary Fairbairn welcomed members to the meeting, which proved to be a most enjoyable evening. All members who visited Droitwich Brine Baths (including supper) had a great time.
Shirley Walker announced that the summer outing in August will be to Bakewell and Chatsworth House. She promised we will be travelling in style by luxury coach with all facilities! The speaker, Ed Shore, rounded off the evening with a wonderfully funny account of his journey from Hagley to India by car and caravan. Mr Shore's deadpan style of humour was a delight. Together with his stoical wife he towed his caravan through France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and into India camping wherever they could, sometimes on the sides of extremely bad roads.
Eventually both caravan and car gave up in Udaipur and he decided to ship them home before returning himself after a well deserved holiday with his wife.
Mo Prust thanked Mr Shore very much and we look forward to seeing him again.
The competition, A Handicraft Item from India, was won by Jan Lea. Jenny Elijah was second and Mo Prust third.
