The May meeting, chaired by president Dot Waldron, was given over to discussion of the three resolutions to be presented at the June AGM at the Albert Hall.
The first, on children's diet, exercise and health, was explained by Dot Waldron; the second, re care of older people, by Beryl Smith; the third, on vocational training of young people, by Margaret Bradford. All three resolutions were discussed in depth, receiving much comment and contribution from the floor and each received a unanimous vote in favour.
We have completed our progress through the first round of matches in the County Skittles Ladder. Our tally of four defeats and one victory means that we will not be progressing to the semi finals of our group, but we have had the pleasure of enjoyable matches against friendly teams from other branches in the county and we live to fight another day.
After the completion of business matters Jan Young presented a fine display of part of her extensive collection of old photographs of Bromsgrove and its environs.
The group meet next in the village hall on Monday, June 9, at 2pm when Mr Gordon Forrest will be speaking. Visitors are always welcome to join us.
