AN angry town trader has hit out at Bromsgrove's planning chiefs after their failure to secure a dangerous drop at the back of his business, two years after he first raised concerns.
Andrew Rowley, of Midland Computer Connections, has spent two unsuccessful years trying to get Bromsgrove District Council to enclose his car park with a barrier.
The car park of the Hanover Street firm backs on to the Spadesbourne Brook and there is a sheer drop of more than six foot at its edge.
"It is a very dangerous car park and I am very worried about someone driving over the edge and injuring themselves, " commented Andrew.
The businessman has been concerned about the drop since moving to the town in 2001.
He wrote to the council and it was determined they were responsible for installing a barrier.
However, after many letters they have still not taken action to secure the piece of land.
"To be honest I am sick of speaking to the district council, they are complete pillocks," said Andrew.
But, John Moody, head of technical services and community safety at the district council said the matter was in hand.
"We have just taken delivery of the materials and work should start very soon. It will be completed by the end of May."
He added: "We have certainly not been uncooperative in this matter and we are simply getting on with the rectifying the problem."
