SWIMMER Stacey Foulkes made a splash into the record books on her 14th birthday when she became the Spa's youngest ever lifeguard.
Stacey, a year nine pupil at Droitwich Spa High School in Briar Mill successfully passed her life-saving test as she turned 14 on the stroke of midnight last Friday - the minimum legal age for taking test.
The youngster has been a member of Droitwich Life Saving Club, based at the town leisure centre for three years.
To become part of the 'Baywatch' gang, Stacey had tow a person for 50m and answer questions on the meaning of different beach flags.
"I was nervous of course, but excited about becoming the youngest ever person in the town," she said.
"It now means I can get any sort of job in water sports which will be great for when I am sixteen!'
Lifesaving Club Chairman Tony Meeson said: "It is the first time anything like this has been done within the club.
"I would like to say well done to Stacey for passing the awards at such a late hour. I understand that this will make Stacey the youngest person since the 1950's to take and pass the award.
"My thanks goes to everyone that was involved.
" It shows the level of dedication volunteers within the club and RLSS, have and the support offered by our local swimming pool," Mr Meeson added.
