WORCESTERSHIRE soon lost Stephen Peters after they were put into bat by holders Yorkshire in today's Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy Fourth round clash at sunny New Road.
The opening batsman was dismissed by England fast bowler Darren Gough for five.
Peters and Vikram Solanki had launched the County's innings against Gough and another England pace man Chris Silverwood.
Silverwood, operating from the New Road End began with a maiden to Peters before Solanki opened his account with a single off Gough's first delivery. Another single later in the over enabled Peters to get off the mark.
Gough's fifth delivery gave Solanki the opportunity to crack the first boundary of the match. Peters, however, soon fell when he mis-timed a pull off Gough and was caught at mid-on by Vic Craven in the fourth over.
His early dismissal heralded the arrival of Graeme Hick who quickly signalled his intentions with a firmly struck boundary off Silverwood.
South African pace star Nantie Hayward passed a fitness test on his bruised foot and returned to the Worcestershire side in place of Kadeer Ali.
In the Yorkshire side, Tim Bresnan was a late replacement for seam bowler Ryan Sidebottom who is suffering from a tight hamstring.
Craven also came in for new England Test hero Anthony McGrath who is still suffering from the effects of a side strain he sustained against Zimbabwe.
