FOR two days solid, a patch of tarmac just outside of Stratford-Upon-Avon is expecting to be treated to the most blistering motoring imaginable.
The UK Modified Nationals is a new event to the race calender at Shakespeare County Race-way, Long Marston this weekend.
The two-day festival for all modded motors is aimed at bringing together Import and Modified cars from around the country, but will also include the Nitrox Street Legal Challenge on a quarter-mile drag strip.
There you will see some of the coolest of cars like the Subaru Imprezas, Citroen Saxos, Nissan Skylines, and Honda Preludes and much more all battling for a place in the top 20 run-off against the clock.
Put in simple terms, its going to be smoking, screeching 100 per cent full on quality entertainment.
Drivers must present a valid MOT and driving license and should have a crash helmet and long-sleeved top.
There will also be a sound off competition, show and shine together with twice daily 'Hour of Power' drag racing demonstrations from the Supercharged Outlaws, Roger Goring's 'Firestorm' Jet-powered Funny Car and the eight second street legal drag monsters of Ian Hook from Cheltenham and Wolver-hampton's Andy Frost.
Don't think for one moment that the word 'demo' means they won't be going for it. Both drivers would love to go to round three of the Street Elim-inator Championship later this month holding the bragging rights.
Performance to date couldn't be closer with Hook's personal best over the quarter-mile being 8.87 seconds, just 2/100ths quicker than the Wolverha-mpton terror.
For weekend ticket holders the entertainment includes live music, dance tent and Lap Dancing Club.
The action starts at 10.30am on Saturday and Sunday. Admi-ssion is £10 per day, £20 for the weekend. Run What Ya Brung feen is £15 for four runs.
