THIS weekend will see more than 400 leading Autograss racers from all over the country descend on Dodwell Raceway, near Stratford for the annual Midland Autograss Promotions Open Championships which incorporates the British Junior Championships.

The MAP Open is one of the top events in the national calendar and is promoted jointly by the Radford and Evesham clubs.

Events Publicity Officer Sally Langley said: " Everyone looks forward all year to this weekend and the two clubs put in a tremendous amount of work to ensure that it's a great success.

"It's a brilliant family atmosphere and a great showcase for some of the best Autograss racing in the UK."

Autograss racing is a non-contact sport that takes place on a 440-yard oval track.

It offers ten classes of racing to both men and women in cars ranging from unmodified 1000cc minis to highly modified, unlimited cc saloons and single seater Autograss 'Specials'.

Racing starts at 10am on both days and, with well in excess of 200 races due to take place during the course of the weekend, the action is sure to be as fast and furious as ever.

Admission prices are £6 for adults, with reduced rates for oaps and juniors up to 16. It's free for the Under-12s

Camping is also available at the venue that is situated on the B 439 on the Stratford to Evesham road.
