THE first ever Forest School in Warwickshire will be launched at Ragley Hall on Monday.
Evesham College chose the estate to be the venue for the pioneering project and after several meetings and preliminary work was finished, nurseries and schools are now using the grounds.
Forest Schools have been taken from a successful programme in Denmark's education system which is based on providing young children with an education which encourages an appreciation of the environment and responsibility for nature conservation in later life.
The project began in the UK in 1995 and has already become a national education initiative.
Children who have been involved in the outdoor environment initiative are encouraged and inspired to grow in confidence, independence and self esteem through mastering small achievable tasks.
As the child's confidence grows, the challenges become more complex but are always achievable.
Evesham College has a Forest School co-ordinator and a team of leaders and is also training up other leaders and assistants.
The Marquess and Dowager Marchioness of Hertford, Mr Granger, Evesham College principal David Blades and Forest Schools co-ordinator at Evesham College, Christina Dee, will all be at the launch.
