A COMFORTABLE five-wicket victory at Pedmore kept up Chaddesley Corbett's pursuit of the leading pack in Worcestershire League Division One.

Fourth-placed Chaddesley dismissed basement side Pedmore for 107 on Monday and then put together a winning total for the loss of five wickets.

Pedmore 107, Chaddesley 108-5.

The villagers suffered their fourth abandoned match at home to Bromyard on Saturday.

They were dismissed for just 118 by their Herefordshire visitors with only Kevin Truswell (35) making much of an impression with the bat.

But, with high-flying Bromyard on 18-0 in reply, the weather forced a permanent halt to play.

Chaddesley were left with five points, while their opponents picked up nine.

The seconds romped to a nine-wicket success over Pedmore on Monday, their first league win of the season.

After Tom Mole's outstanding 8-17 destroyed Pedmore's batting, Chaddesley responded through Grenville Wilson (68 not out) and Rob Stephens (48 not out).

Pedmore 118, Chaddesley 2nds 119-1.

The seconds' visit to Bromyard on Saturday was abandoned without play.
