STANFORD with Orleton Parish Church is to re-open on Sunday June 1 following extensive refurbish work inside and out.
At 10.30am, a special service will give thanks for the mighty effort put in by contractors and local people to bring the old church back to life again.
The service will be conducted by the new rector, the Rev. Louise Grace, followed at 4pm by the blessing of the rectory.
Particular praise goes to Brian Mills, lay chairman of the Teme Valley North Parochial Church Council, and his team of volunteers who took on the major task of painting the interior walls and ceiling.
The organ is back in place and other items, stored for safekeeping until work was completed, are being moved back in.
A big clean-up is needed before the official service and people keen to help with this can offer their services by telephoning 01886 853264.
