A 130-ACRE country estate at Chaddesley Corbett has been sold for nearly £2 million after going under the hammer at auction with all the money going to the Government.
The sale of Tanwood House Farm Estate followed the death of owner Barney Richards who died last year without a will and no immediate family.
The main lot of Tanwood House set in grounds of more than 18 acres was sold to a Stourbridge bidder for £645,000.
Farm buildings with planning consent for residential conversion sold for £760,000 to a Wolverhampton bidder and various fields sold in lots ranging from three to 30 acres and made more than £520,000.
Halls Auctioneers of Kidderminster conducted the sale on behalf of the Treasury solicitor at the town's Gainsborough House Hotel.
