ANDY Keast could not hide his delight after seeing his Worcester side demolish Orrell 35-10.
The coach was in buoyant mood following his team's bonus point victory which gave the Edge Hall Road club a harsh early lesson about life in National One.
"When you play poor opposition it can sometimes be easy but Orrell are a good team," said Keast.
"They will finish this season in the top four in National One - without a doubt. To play the quality of rugby that we did and to score four tries against them is a credit to the players.
"For such a new squad the spirit is excellent. You can see it on and off the field. We've had some hard times on the training field to get things right but it's all about what happens on match days and they've performed very well. It was a great team performance."
Worcester were 25-0 up at half time following a superb opening 30 minutes which cut Orrell to shreds. And the former British Lions coach was pleased with the high tempo game which proved too much for the newly promoted Lancashire club.
"They performed for the first 40 minutes to really set the platform for us," he added.
"The work-rate was outstanding in the first half and maybe because of that, our energy levels were a bit low in the second half. We are extremely pleased with the performance. We've played two games now this season and have 10 points so we're happy with the season so far."
Keast was wary of picking out individuals after such a great team performance but was full of praise for Worcester's new Captain Marvel, Werner Swanepoel.
"Werner plays and lives on the edge," said Keast.
"That's what makes him such a great player. He's a breath of fresh air at the club. His exuberance is incredible and it's not by any shock that people call him Smiley because that's what he's like. He always puts a smile on your face which at times is quite tough for the coaching staff!
"From our perspective, he sees this season at Worcester as a challenge. He's played at the very top level and obviously could have gone to any Premiership club. But I think he wanted to help us live the dream of promotion to the top flight.
"He's not just a top quality player though, he's a top guy and after a few months of working with him that is already clear.
"What he will give us this season is leadership but also a desire and a hunger to play well and achieve again."
