WORCESTER Rugby Club's Academy side narrowly lost 26-24 against Scotland Under 21s in a thrilling match at Sixways last night.
Scotland got off to a convincing start with two tries and a conversion for a 13-0 half-time lead, but Worcester came back strongly after the interval and wing Chris Moule opened the scoring for the home side with a try on 43 minutes.
This was followed by a try for wing Alex Pimlow and a Dave Parker conversion to put them just one point behind on 13-12.
The Scots came back strongly, however, with two penalties from their fly-half and captain Alistair Warnock.
Worcester stepped up the pace in the last 20 minutes and they were rewarded with a try from replacement Simon Fitzpatrick and a conversion from Parker to level the scores with 10 minutes to go.
A 75th minute try from flanker Ross Aichison and a conversion from Warnock gave the Under 21s a seven points lead, but Worcester's stars of the future crossed for a final try by Chris Knight.
The conversion sailed just wide to leave Worcester an agonizing two points adrift.
