FURIOUS Worcester Rugby Club will hold showdown talks with officials after a catalogue of late challenges in their 28-19 friendly defeat against Leicester at Sixways last night.
Coaches John Brain and Andy Keast turned up today to find a physio room full of casualties.
Craig Chalmers took the brunt of the fouls and was troubled by a stiff back and ribs, while Neil Mason (shoulder), James Ogilvie-Bull (head), Hugo Southwell (ankle) and Chris Hall, who took a punch, were all feeling the effects of last night's 'friendly'.
With a return fixture with Leicester planned in two weeks time, Worcester are now looking for assurances over the standard of refereeing.
"We were disappointed with the officials and we need to talk with them to make sure it doesn't happen again," said Keast.
Duncan Roke and Craig Hudson scored tries for the United side after Chalmers had put them 5-0 up early on in the match. All the injuries, however, are unlikely to affect selection for Saturday's home top of the table shoot-out with Orrell.
