A WYRE Forest angler used a cat's whisker to catch a 9lb 8oz brown trout and three rainbows totalling 12lb from the Masters Lake at Shatterford Lakes Fishery.
But, despite Kidderminster man Kevin Duffield's feat, the best flies on the lake proved to be buzzers and orange or pink lures.
Another town angler, Ray Greenhill, used a red buzzer on the Andy Capp to catch eight trout totalling 11lb though viva and montana flies were most effective.
The best on the Stella were viva and cat's whisker but a Halesowen angler used a mayfly and caught 10 trout to 3lb.
Buzzers and viva proved most successful on the Wyre Dell with one angler catching 22 trout to 2lb 8oz using buzzers.
On the coarse scene, Stourport fisherman Richard Carter used boilies on the Erics Lake and caught two 20lb common carp and two doubles.
On the Gainsborough, pellets lured two catfish to 23lb and two carp, while meat was used for 10 carp to 18lb 8oz.
Mixed bags of roach, bream and carp to 45lb were reported on the Stuarts.
