WE think it is high time there was a cinema in Kidderminster. Some of our members can remember when there were seven in the district.
People with disabilities find it very difficult to get to the cinema, either in Worcester or Merry Hill. None of us can drive and so we have to go by public transport - this is expensive and often unreliable.
We are all people who survive on benefits and those of us who live in residential care only have about £20 a week to spend on leisure activities.
Many people with learning disabilities would need to be taken to the cinema in Worcester or Merry Hill by a carer or member of staff, but if we had a cinema in our town we could get there on our own and be more independent.
We would rather see the Piano Building used to house a cinema instead of demolishing it but if the choice is between no cinema or keeping the building, we would rather have a cinema.
