NEWLY-trained mums and grandmas are ready to pass on their experience and give young families in Wyre Forest a helping hand. The six women volunteers have finished a 10-week course with Home-Start Wyre Forest to train them in how to help families with children under five. Home-Start volunteers who have completed their training course include Megan Weaver, Victoria Elcock, Carol Booth and Ann Cousins
"We are really pleased to welcome another six to our group of dedicated volunteers," said Home-Start manager Jane Jarman.
"Now they've completed their course we can start matching them to families. Our volunteers are all ages and from all walks of life. They all have parenting experience themselves so they know just how hard looking after young children can be."
The six are mums Amanda Thompson, Gill Palmer, Victoria Ellcock and Carol Booth and grandmothers Ann Cousins and Megan Weaver.
Mrs Jarman said a recent plea for more volunteers in the Shuttle/Times & News brought a good response and a new course will be starting soon.
Any new volunteers with parenting experience who want to help should call 01562 825896.
