THEY sit there unmoving, watching over Malvern and their familiarity may breed contempt.
But by the end of this video history, made by Heritage Films in conjunction with the Malvern Gazette, you are left in no doubt about the importance of the Malvern Hills.
Does everyone in the town realise their significance, not only to Malvern but the impact they have made on British history?
Do they know, for example, that at one stage it was thought there may be gold to be found deep in the Malverns (before you start digging, the rumours were untrue)?
The story of the Hills and conurbation's that have sprung up around them are told in loving detail.
It includes pieces on Celtic influence on the town, the Priory, Malvern's spring water and the growth of well dressing, Morgan motor cars and the town's important role in the Second World War including research work into radar.
To fit so much into 50 minutes is a fine achievement.
The video would be ideal for schools looking to help pupils learn more about the town, geology or British history.
Locals who think they need to brush up their know-how of the area can certainly do that here and those who have moved away and would like a reminder of some of the area's beautiful scenery will find plenty on offer.
