DEVELOPERS McCarthy and Stone are scheduled to start work in August on a new block of flats in Malvern Link.
The Coventry-based firm won planning permission to build 49 units of sheltered housing on the site now occupied by the Brooklyn Ford garage in February.
It is hoped the first apartments will be ready for occupation next June.
McCarthy and Stone has also been granted temporary planning permission for advertising display boards on the site.
Brooklyn Ford was unavailable for comment on what will happen to the business.
