A CO-OPERATIVE scheme allowing organisations to pool minibuses has been launched by Worcestershire County Council.
The authority is urging non-profit- making organisations across the Malvern Hills to join its ShareLINK project.
Under its terms, members' vehicles are loaned out to others in the scheme when they are not being used. Groups that do not own a minibus can also join.
The county council's vehicle sharing officer, Chris Atkinson, said: "ShareLINK delivers a solution to social isolation and meets the needs of the young, elderly, mobility impaired or those living in rural isolation.
"ShareLINK has access to minibuses across the county, so we can find a local minibus without the borrower having to travel far to collect it."
Vehicles can be hired for any amount of time from a morning, day, week and even longer depending on the nature of the need.
To find out more, contact Chris Atkinson on 01905 768461. Volunteer drivers are also needed.
