INVITATIONS to tender for a major project to repair St Wulstan's RC Church in Little Malvern are going out today (Friday).
The church where Elgar is buried was given £100,000 by English Heritage last month to help its roof restoration project.
Lt Col James Sweetman, chairman of the restoration fund, said: "The fact we are able to get the invitations sent out now is thanks to some very quick work by our architects, Nick Joyce Architects, and quantity surveyors Gwilliam and Jones."
Around £100,000 is still needed to reach the £250,000 target. Lt Col Sweetman says donations are still coming in, with £2,500 having arrived in recent weeks.
