A TEAM from QinetiQ in Malvern is getting ready for a gruelling challenge in the mountains of Wales.

The four or five-strong team will be taking part in Europe's largest corporate team-building exercise, The Microsoft Challengers Trophy, in aid of the NSPCC.

The trophy is a three-and-a-half day event in Snowdonia on June 11-15. which tests mind, body and team spirit.

Participants could find themselves running, mountain biking, canoeing, scaling cliffs, tackling assault courses or performing engineering tasks, thinking laterally and making critical decisions.

The QinetiQ team will be competing against more than 100 teams from over 50 UK companies in aid of the NSPCC's Full Stop Campaign to end cruelty to children. Awards will be made for the team completing the course in the fastest time and for the team or company raising the most money.

QinetiQ team captain Dave Brassington comments: "The trophy is a highly effective means of developing team skills which can be taken back to the workplace.

"It's a great boost for morale and it's especially motivating to realise that we're supporting the NSPCC's work with abused and ill-treated children. Thanks to all our colleagues and customers for supporting our efforts."
