YEAR 9 pupils at Malvern Girls' College picked up first prize at a Latin play competition.
The Ludi Scaenici Glevi was held at Westonbirt School in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, on Thursday, May 22. The 11 MGC girls wrote the play themselves, after a visit to the museum of Roman Bath. Classics staff helped them translate it into Latin.
The team was Helen Parker, Kemi Green, Kat Innes, Francesca Clixby, Gib Karnchanachari, Imogen Midwood, Lotti Bain, Henrietta Whittal-Williams, Sophia Morris-Jones, Tina Goodwin and Lucie Giblin. Adjudicators gave them first prize for their "theatrical presence and language accuracy". They received a cup and book token.
