RE the news item "Elgar one of the best", (Malvern Gazette, May 16). I moved into a bungalow thanks to Elgar, but before doing so every room had to be decorated and thoroughly cleaned from top to bottom with the help of my brother and his wife.
I was told by neighbours that Elgar paid a decorating allowance. Elgar did not offer this until I asked. It was £74 which is not enough. Bromsgrove Council allow £100. Try to decorate a bungalow for £74, just using different coloured emulsion paints. I don't know about its four week turn around on vacated houses being ready for tenants, mine must have taken all of four minutes!
I will say that I have a very nice bungalow with very nice neighbours, nice area, well tended by Elgar maintenance and in all fairness I've had quick response from Elgar if I've had problems. I would not like to leave here but let's get this turnaround truthfully put.
