PUBS promoting locally farmed food and drink are to be recognised for helping independent producers.
The Countryside Alliance's Locals to Locals 2003 awards will celebrate pubs and inns that are nominated by visitors for serving locally-sourced produce.
Clare Rowson, the Countryside Alliance's regional director for Worcestershire, said: "We believe diversity in food production and consumer choice should be promoted by the consumers themselves.
"Local producers depend on local outlets and what better way to sell a local produce than to the customers of the local pub?"
Nomination forms can be downloaded from the Countryside Alliance website at www.countryside-alliance. org or by calling 0207 840 9220. The deadline for nominations is June 30.
