MEMBERS of the Out to Grass mountain boarding team put on a strong performance at a pre-season event and are looking forward to a successful year.
The Cradley-based team travelled to the Quantocks to take part in the No-Snow Downhill Challenge earlier this month.
Team-rider Jack Herriot, 14, of Cradley, came seventh overall in the event, ahead of two visiting American professionals, and first in the U15s class.
"He won his class by a long, long way," said team boss Ian Johnston.
"I was really proud of the boy, it made my weekend."
Thirteen-year-old James Sleigh came third in the same class.
"I think they are going to have a very good season," Mr Johnston said.
The next event is from June 6 to 8 when the All Terrain Boarding Association Series starts again in Dorset. The final will be held in Cradley later in the year.
