TOP ranking New York firefighters are visiting Droitwich Fire Station to thank the public for supporting the massive September 11 fundraising campaign.
Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade collected £163,000 for the families of firefighters who perished in the 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Centre.
The visit to the Spa's Friar Street station is earmarked for Monday, June 30 or Tuesday, July 1.
The New Yorkers will be in the country for the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund Diamond Jubilee event at The Royal Albert Hall, London, Sunday, June 29.
It celebrates sixty years since the fund was created during the "Blitz" of 1942.
Friendship
The visitors are also scheduled to visit other stations in Hereford and Worcester and attend a Friendship Dinner in Worcester on Tuesday July, 1. Further details about the visit will be available shortly.
