KNOWN as the first lady of British musical theatre, Elaine Paige comes to Malvern Theatres in a new production of a comic French classic.

Sir Peter Hall's version of Feydeau's Where There's A Will also stars Nicholas Le Prevost and David Warner.

It sees Paige returning to the stage after achieving critical acclaim in Hall's recent West End production of The Misanthrope.

Where There's A Will is a romp through the intricacies of extra-marital intrigue, combining abandoned trust with jealousy and trickery to produce the absurd. A husband teaches his friend to become his own wife's lover, without the slightest notion that he is doing so.

Elaine Paige has had starring roles in shows such as Evita, Cats, Chess, Piaf and Sunset Boulevard, which have brought her international fame.

Nicholas Provost was nominated for an Olivier Award for his performance in An Absolute Turkey. David Warner is a leading RSC actor whose performances include Hamlet and Richard II. He also appeared in the film Straw Dogs.

The play runs from Monday to Saturday, June 9 to 14 at 8pm, with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 2.30pm. Tickets start at £12, available from the box office on 01684 892277.
