A MINT performance from Kendall saw Colwall home to a convincing nine wicket victory in their home fixture with a youthful Feckenham.
COLWALL III v FECKENHAM III
Having lost the toss Feckenham were asked to bat on an excellent but slightly damp wicket. Debutante Tim Hill dismissed opener Jackson for a duck and continued a fine but luckless ten over spell. Skipper Daniels and Glasby proceeded to take the game to the home side and looked as though Colwall would rue the dropped catches as Glasby clubbed a century.
The introduction of two under 14 debutantes Christina Elsden and James Shepherd turned the match with the former showing no nerves and clean bowling Glasby. Shepherd also bowled a fine line and length and was on a hat -trick. The visitors finished on 197 for the loss of eight wickets when rain came three overs before tea leaving Colwall 42 overs to achieve victory.
Acting skipper John Berry and the effervescent Clive Kendall never looked in trouble against the seven bowlers used by Feckenham.
With Berry acting as anchor Kendall set about finishing the match early before being caught on mid wicket boundary for an impressive 99. Robin Lloyd and Berry saw Colwall home with ten overs to spare.
