IAN Britton accepts that Kidder-minster Harriers' financial constraints are restricting him to look for new players from within the Midlands area.
The Harriers boss has a smaller playing budget for next season and is being forced to sniff out bargain price campaigners in his bid to improve the side which finished 11th in the Nation-wide League Division Three last term.
He said: "There will be a lot of players out there, but at the same time we are still restricted by the catchment area I can go to.
"I can't go and sign some young lad from Leeds United and bring him here because then he's got to find his digs, and that's all money. So, I've still got a catchment area, ie the Midlands, that I've got to work on. I can't go further and further afield.
"It's got to be commuting distance because obviously we can't put people up. We can't play relocation fees and things like that. To a certain extent I've got to go within that catchment area."
Britton's only close season signing so far is 23-year-old Sutton Coldfield born central defender Matthew Gadsby who began his career at Walsall and was with Mansfield last season.
Meanwhile, Harriers are continuing to build up list of pre-season friendlies.
They will play Evesham United (away, Saturday, July 12, 3pm), Stratford Town (away, Sunday, July 13, 3pm), Boldmere (away, Saturday, July 19, 3pm), Leicester City (Monday, July 21, 7.45pm), West Bromwich Albion (Saturday, July 26, 3pm), Walsall (Wednesday, July 30, 7.45pm), Hereford United (Saturday, August 2, 3pm). Matches subject to change.
