FOUR schools in the county have grounds to celebrate - in more ways than one.
Witton Middle and St Peter's First schools in Droitwich, Poolbrook Primary School in Malvern and Catshill Middle School, Bromsgrove, have all been designated as having School Grounds for the Future.
The three-year program is run by the Learning Through Landscapes charity, which aims to help transform school premises into high quality environments.
Enhancements will include improved lighting, fencing, play and sports facilities and planting areas.
Gill Samuels, head teacher of Poolbrook Primary School said: "Our school is in a magnificent setting with extensive grounds which have huge potential."
"Our children will be involved in designing and planning and we will draw on the skills of the local community to help make the plans a reality. We can't wait to get started."
Julian Kramer, the county council's director of education said they are delighted the schools have been selected for the Grounds of the Future Program.
