GEORGE Cowley hopes that a Church of England official will put in a good word on his behalf to God (You Say, May 16).
Had George Cowley read his Bible more carefully, he would know that Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and Man (1 Timothy 2:5). George Cowley has fallen into the same error as Roman Catholicism and its practices of priestly intercession.
George Cowley's hope in a "good word" is also futile. Salvation is by grace, not by good deeds (Ephesians 2:8).
