A DELIVERY lorry caused traffic jams in Worcester when it became wedged on a pavement and blocked a city street.

A 24-hour recovery vehicle had to be called to the junction of Friar Street and College Street to dislodge the food delivery lorry, which had become stuck around 1pm yesterday.

The vehicle's wheels had to be lifted clear of the cast metal bollards, but remained blocking the road for about two hours.

A second lorry became wedged at the same junction this morning, after cars parked on both sides of the road made the turn too tight for the delivery vehicle.
