I HAVE read the various letters printed in your paper attacking MP Michael Foster.

I have no love of "New" Labour. I sometimes agree, but usually disagree, with the political views of Mr Foster.

However, as regards Mr Foster's actions on behalf of his constituents, I can only state that his representations on behalf of different members of my family, all constituents at some time or another, have been most energetic and successful.

We would certainly not have been able to resolve some serious personal issues concerning various Government departments and private companies without Mr Foster's help.

I wish Mr Foster continued success as an MP.

A SMALL but significant example of creeping European federalism could be seen at the UEFA Cup Final between Celtic (Scotland) and Porto (Portugal).

No national anthems were played before the match as UEFA have banned them in support of the European Union's agenda to abolish the nation state within Europe.

It's the "insult to the intelligence" aspect that really bothers me.

These decisions are made by anonymous faces hidden away somewhere and they think nobody will even notice.
