A TEENAGER suffered a broken nose, cuts and facial bruises in an assault police are treating as racially aggravated.
Police were called to a disorder involving several large groups of youths in the town centre at about 9.35pm on Monday, May 26.
The teenager was walking in Bates Hill when he was approached by three youths who started to talk to him before pushing him to the floor, stamping on him and kicking him a number of times.
The victim managed to struggle free and ran off under the underpass and into the Golden Cross pub.
Police are looking for an Asian man aged 18-19, about 6ft tall, who was well built with a thin face, short black cropped hair and a goatee beard.
The attacker was wearing black trousers, a white hooded top and a white baseball cap.
