HAVING read all the comments regarding the accident on the Alvechurch Highway on Tuesday, May 6, I would, on behalf of my husband, who was the person all the comments were regarding, put his side of the story.

Having collided with a car coming across the central reservation, he found himself with the car on its side, unable to get out or release the seatbelt.

As he has worked with cars ever since leaving school, he was only too aware of what may happen in such a situation.

First on the scene was a lady and gentleman who comforted him.

One witness said his car rolled four times and that he was a lucky person.

After talking to both of them, he insisted they help him out of his seatbelt.

He was advised not to but his reply was that if the car caught fire, he would not need any ambulance.

May I say, on behalf of my husband and myself, thank you very much to all those people who helped on that morning, whether professional or not.

We all do what is right for that moment in time so please do not walk away from any accident if you can help in any small way.

My husband has broken ribs, is badly shaken but recovering.

So thank you one and all.

He is still here with me and that's all that matters.
