AGAIN, I thank Colin and Mrs Plaskett for their correct description of Redditch Charity Jazz Band uniforms.
Although only five years old in 1933, I could not remember what uniform the band wore.
I did watch almost every carnival from that era when I lived near the top of Parsons Road.
I have since been told about the pierrot uniform. It was red and white long after the blue naval uniform; red coats, white trousers and peaked caps.
I suppose my memory slipped nearer the present and not the past.
