DEAR EDITOR -- May I express my total agreement with John Cawthen's comments (LETTERS (May 28) - Bromsgrove's bin blight) expressing serious reservations about the use of wheelie bins in Bromsgrove.
I was appalled to read that Bromsgrove District Council were considering spending so much money on this scheme.
Whilst being totally in favour of the re-cycling boxes - a successful venture in the Berkshire village where I lived previously - wheelie bins are grossly unfriendly to residents. That they will only be emptied every two weeks is disgusting - the smell of such refuse in high summer will be unbelievable.
Since the council is spending public money, surely public opinion should be sought before initiating this project.
