DEAR EDITOR -- I am one of a small number of responsible dog owners who meet while excercising our companions six mornings a week on the Lickey End Recreation ground.
On several occasions we have found there to be excess water coming from the brook on the nearside of the Burcot side of the B4096.
The brook is a total disgrace, from the entrance to the ground as far as the bridge, where it is heavily silted up to the beginning of the bridge archway. This causes the water to back up and overflow into the road.
This is an accident waiting to happen for travellers who are unaware of the problem.
In recent weeks two ducks took up residence in that spot but alas one of the ducks was killed, apparently by a fox, no doubt helped by the bulrushes, masses of weed and accumulated silt.
The council will no doubt blame the excess rainfall but many will know the real reason.
