HE road repairs to the M5 continued to bring misery to the residents of Bromsgrove and the surrounding areas. A West Mercia Police spokesman claimed that there had been more "shunt" accidents since the repair work began. Frustrated and fatigued drivers were also using the A38 as a bypass creating even more traffic in the town.
REVELLERS at North Worcestershire College held a rag week as part of their annual charities week. Bromsgrove District Council, which had previously not granted the students a collection license, granted one on this occasion for the traditional rag week procession in Kidderminster and Bromsgrove.
RESIDENTS were assured the taps would not run dry as a spell of dry weather swept the county reminiscent of the conditions last seen in 1976. The East Worcestershire Waterworks company assured residents that 14m gallons of water were being pumped through a day and that they were increasing the diameter of pipes to cope with the demand.
