A RADIO presenter is hoping to prove she's cut above the rest by accepting a hair-raising challenge in Droitwich Spa.
In a bid to collect cash for Acorns Children's Hospice, BBC Hereford and Worcester's Katie Smith will learn essential scissors skills in just 12 hours.
She is being sponsored to take part in a fast track course developed by Number 1 Hair in High Street.
The basic cutting skills course is being promoted across the Three Counties, with some of the fee going to the hospice appeal.
On July 17, Katie will learn to cut a number one - a short-layered haircut. She told the Advertiser: "I can't even cut in a straight line, so anything could happen and probably will!"
Katie's coiffeuring will be judged alongside work from local salons, by celebrity stylist Trevor Sorbie.
