BROMSGROVE Golf Club's Mixed Seniors remain favourites to retain the Ombersley Shield after taking a decisive lead in their opening round match.
The Stratford Road centre's team, who have won the trophy for the last two years, defeated Ombersley 8 v 2 in the first leg of their encounter last week.
Elsewhere, Bromsgrove's 17-24 team made it two wins out of two this season by defeating Birmingham Alliance title challengers Cannock.
Steve Hart's side recorded a 246-230 home victory while his side also saw off Boldmere 166-134 in the first round of the Birmingham and District Vale and Robinson Cup.
Lynn Allen won the Ladies May Stableford with 37 points followed by Su Johnson and Val A Price, both with 36.
Val Price also won the Ladies Senior medal with nett 72.
