HIGH-FLYING Feckenham Bird Centre will be celebrating its 50th birthday when the village Wake starts on Saturday.
The centre, opened by Lionel Peak in time for the Feckenham Wake in 1953, is still going strong today and houses many different species, from poultry to foreign birds.
The Droitwich Road centre, which is free to the public, has also grown into a pottery, with Mrs Peak two years through a fine art and ceramics degree.
