THE REDI centre, which offers a wide range of educational courses for adults, is celebrating after tripling its intake of learners in the past year.
The centre, in South Street, is owned and managed by Redditch Council and works closely with NEW College to provide training opportunities for the unemployed or low waged.
It operates as part of the Government's Lifelong Learning initiative and offers accredited courses on career and personal development, appropriate to users' needs.
Most courses offer a route from six-hour beginner sessions up to 30-hour accredited courses which link into NVQs and GNVQs at NEW College for those who want to continue training.
Each term, the centre offers personal development courses in subjects such as Information Technology, which ranges from beginners to the industry standard ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence).
Courses in art and design, languages, childcare, holistic therapies, introduction to accounting, computerised accounts and many more are also available.
Access to supported childcare ensuring parents are not excluded is also available.
Anyone who would like to receive a course leaflet or would like to make an appointment can call 68583 and ask for Pam or Karen.
